YP4C United for Haiti Fundraiser

On February 17th, YP4C, The JI Group, Living Measure and Triumph will be collaborating on a special fundraiser in support of Haitian relief and recovery called "United for Haiti" from 5:30 to 9 pm at Nikki Beach in New York City (http://www.nikkibeach.com/newyork/). Proceeds from the fundraiser will be directed to one of the following two entities:

1) President Obama's Clinton Bush Haiti Fund (http://clintonbushhaitifund.org/). Email confirmation printout receipts dated after January with personal ID must be brought to the event for admission.

2) The Haitian American Alliance of New York. All payments through our dedicated eventbrite link will go directly to HAA (http://unitedforhaiti.eventbrite.com/). Email receipts for tax purposes will be sent by HAA to donors and will not need to be brought for event admission.

Our keynote speaker for the fundraiser will be the Reverend Al Sharpton. Other special guest speakers include Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer, Deputy Borough President Rose Pierre-Louis and HAA Founder Dr. Jean Claude Compas. We will also have a musical selection performed by American Idol contestant Joanne Borgella, who is of Haitian descent.

VIP tickets will be sold for $100 and general ticket prices are $25 in advance ($125 and $35 respectively at the door). We will be offering expedited venue entry, a private section with access to special guests, complimentary appetizers, and a champagne toast for VIP ticket holders. OFH in the Community

Welcome to the Organizing for Harlem blog. There are many ways we will be involved in the community:

•Joining grassroots Organizing For America (OFA) campaigns to support the President's agenda. Online, on the phone, on doorsteps and in town halls across Harlem, we're building the bottom-up support that makes real change possible.
•Spreading the word to friends and neighbors about the President's approach on the big issues facing our nation, like health care, energy and education. Nothing is more powerful than our voice in our community.
•Serving our community in ways big and small. Volunteering, fundraising, and mentoring in Harlem are all activities that we will focus on. Rebuilding America starts today.
•Connecting with other supporters to form strong local groups, ready to take on whatever challenges we face in Harlem.
•Supporting leaders who share our values and are ready to carry forward the fight for change.
